Workflow

My finance and tax support stack

Books are behind, payments are slow, and nobody has checked which reliefs might apply.

The outcome

Reconciled accounts monthly, faster cash collection, and specialist review of available reliefs.

The steps

  1. One accounting platform

Xero or QuickBooks. Pick one and stop debating it.

  2. Monthly reconciliation

Internal or outsourced, but it happens every month without exception.

  3. Deposits and payment links

Stripe links sent with quotes reduce no-shows and improve cash flow.

  4. Separate compliance from specialism

Your accountant files; specialist reliefs usually need a specialist.

  5. Document expenditure properly

Relief claims live or die on evidence, so record projects and costs as you go.

  6. Annual relief review

Check eligibility once a year rather than never.

Where this usually goes wrong

  • Assuming your accountant handles specialist reliefs
  • Reconciling once a year in a panic
  • No deposit on work that ties up resources
  • Poor project documentation, making claims hard to evidence

Where my companies fit

Declared openly — these are businesses I benefit from.

  • Reclaim Tax UK

Reclaim Tax UK is the company I am involved in that reviews eligibility for R&D relief, capital allowances, land remediation relief and Patent Box.
