The Business Fix · 001

Stop buying AI tools.

Another AI subscription is not a plan for getting work done.

Find the recurring work worth testing with AI, give it clear instructions and check whether it actually releases time. Start with the work your business already does, not another software demo.

The £19 AI Business Fix

One problem. One practical system. Fix it this week.Chris G Jones · chrisgjones.co.uk

The outcome

Know which AI work to keep—and which to leave alone.

Every new tool adds setup, checking and another bill. If nobody has defined the job or measured the result, it is hard to tell useful help from another distraction.

01

Choose

Score the recurring work in your business and identify three credible opportunities.

02

Build

Define useful AI roles with source material, output formats and approval gates.

03

Measure

Calculate capacity value after setup cost, software cost and human review time.

Look inside the system

See the working tools before you buy.

A blunt view

Most businesses do not need an AI strategy.

They need to identify the repetitive work wasting time every week. Buying software first creates another subscription, another login and another tool nobody can explain commercially.

AI should prepare many decisions before it is allowed to make them. The pack gives you a working boundary between useful preparation and human accountability.

This is for you if…

  • You run a small or owner-led business
  • Your team repeats admin, drafting or research work
  • You want evidence before another subscription

This is not for you if…

You want a list of fashionable tools, a fully autonomous business or a promise that saved hours become cash profit.

Inside the pack

Choose the work. Define the role. Check the result.

The core spreadsheet

The Opportunity Scorecard does more than rank long jobs.

Enter hours, frequency, labour cost, consistency, difficulty, risk, customer and revenue impact, frustration, AI suitability and implementation ease. The formula applies a risk gate so a high-consuming but consequential task cannot become DO FIRST merely because it is expensive.

75-task library

Useful examples with sensible limits.

Sales, marketing, operations, customer service, finance administration, management and HR. Each task shows the AI role, likely benefit, risk and required human approval.

  • Research prospects — AI prepares; salesperson verifies.
  • Turn notes into an SOP — AI drafts; process owner approves.
  • Recommend pricing — AI analyses; commercial owner decides.
  • Make payments or fire staff — human decision.

Three copy-and-customise roles

A marketing assistant, sales assistant and operations assistant with the controls already written.

Marketing

Ideas, social and email drafts, video scripts, case studies, FAQs, web copy and repurposing. No invented customer claims.

Sales

Prospect and pre-call research, draft outreach, follow-ups, objections, proposal preparation, summaries and CRM notes. People own price and promises.

Operations

Meeting summaries, action extraction, SOP and customer-update drafts, status summaries, issue logs and knowledge organisation.

The 30-day plan

Do a small number of things properly.

  1. Week 1 Audit the work and choose the first opportunity.
  2. Week 2 Build and test the first AI role on real examples.
  3. Week 3 Measure results and introduce one second role.
  4. Week 4 Improve, automate only where sensible, and stop weak uses.

Afterwards, you should have:

  • A ranked list of AI-suitable work
  • At least one tested role with clear instructions
  • Human approval boundaries your team can follow
  • A conservative view of capacity value
  • A commercial rule for future AI purchases

Questions before buying

Why buy this rather than ask ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can draft an answer. This pack helps decide which job is worth asking it to do, define the role, test the output and count the review cost. The scorecard, role builder and calculator connect those decisions; the prompts sit inside that process.

What is an AI employee?

In this toolkit, an AI employee is a clearly defined assistant role with inputs, outputs, operating rules and human approval gates. It is not a claim that software is an autonomous employee.

Which tasks should a small business automate first?

Start with frequent, repeatable, low-risk work that has consistent inputs and an output a person can review quickly. Meeting summaries, first drafts, research preparation and turning notes into SOPs are common candidates.

Which tasks should stay human?

People should keep final control over payments, contracts, legal or regulated decisions, firing staff, sensitive customer matters, material public claims, pricing commitments and decisions made on behalf of the business.

Do I need another AI subscription?

Usually not to begin. The templates work with mainstream AI assistants. Use the Buying Filter to prove a new subscription has a clear job, measurable return and workable checking process before paying.

Is this a course or consultancy?

No. It is a downloadable implementation toolkit containing PDFs, spreadsheets, a Word worksheet and copy-and-customise prompt templates.

How is the download delivered?

After Stripe confirms payment, the confirmation page and purchase email provide access to a private, time-limited download link with reasonable re-downloads.
